Why I don’t put a clock on your wedding day

By Kelly ·

When couples start comparing wedding photographers, one of the first things they run into is the hourly package: six hours, eight hours, ten hours, with overtime charged in chunks if things run late. It makes sense on paper. But wedding days don’t run on paper.

The best moments don’t follow a schedule

After more than 800 weddings, I can tell you that some of the best moments are the ones nobody planned: a grandpa pulling the bride onto the dance floor, the couple sneaking away for five quiet minutes at sunset, the last hug before the getaway car. If your photographer has already packed up because the clock ran out, those moments are just gone.

So I don’t use a clock. When you book my wedding coverage, I’m with you from getting ready through your send-off. If your ceremony is at the temple in the morning and your reception is across the county that evening, I’ll be at both, with no travel fees in northern Utah.

Why it actually makes your day calmer

Hourly packages quietly add stress. Someone is always watching the time, wondering whether to cut the bouquet toss short or pay for another hour. Without a clock, nobody has to make those decisions. Your timeline can breathe, and you can enjoy the people you love.

That’s a big part of why my couples describe their day as stress-free.
